TRAIL FEST COFFEE BEAN GUESSING GAME WINNER: TERRY GIBSON

Terry’s guess: 1559.

Actual # of beans in the jar: 1649.

They were only 90 beans away! Congrats, Terry. Look for an e-mail shortly with details on your coffee winnings. Thanks to Roast! West Coast the coffee podcast for running the game! Chris O’Brien (Founder/Head Roaster of Coffee Cycle) is a regular expert guest on the show. Listen to the podcast on all your favorite podcast platforms, including Spotify.

THANK YOU, SDMBA & ALL THE MTB’ers

Propane burns blue on a Coleman brand camp stove under two water kettles in the dark, just before dawn.
Cheers to rolling out of the tent and firing up the kettles at Mt. Laguna!

The # of times Chris said, "Everyone here is so happy! I just love being here," was too high to count (unlike the coffee beans).

This was the very first time Coffee Cycle Roasting was at Trail Fest, and we sure hope it wasn't the last. We're grateful we got to spend a few days making coffee for everyone. We not only believe in the mission of SDMBA but also that the organization is one of the best-run bike organizations out there. Thanks to Susie and the team for offering up the opportunity.

AND thanks to all of the riders, volunteers, coffee drinkers, and fellow vendors. We met so many cool people, not just at the coffee tent but all over camp! We don't do a lot of events, but if they're all like this… we're going to have to rethink some things. Hope to see you again soon, if not on the trail, at our shop in Pacific Beach!

A barista (white man with glasses and beard in profile) wearing a mustard color wool stocking cap and blue hoodie looks down at water kettles boiling on a camp stove. An oversized filter coffee pot filled with grounds is in the foreground and blurred trees and a campground sign is in the background.
That is a BIG pour over coffee!
